    ghost or indian flower?

I guess I had some wimpy nymphs, then! :P  And I agree with your other points!

    ghost or indian flower?

Ghosts are longer-lived mantises if you want a mantis that will live a long time. They also have a really great dance :P . I find that, at least in my experience, the c. pictipennis (which is the species I'm assuming you'd get?) like to be handled more than ghosts and are, of course, beautiful...

    Depressed Mantis?

My R. Basilis male recently molted to adult, and he's eating and passing frass just fine, he has all of his legs, his wings are slightly messed up but not badly. He has no visible wounds or infections. He's just been lethargic and... depressed, I suppose. I try to take him out every day, he...

    He molted to adult!

My R. Basilis finally molted to adult! Unfortunately, he fell during his molt, giving him bowed legs and messed up wings. He's eaten already and I'm sure he's going to be just fine! Here he is on my hand. I realize that he's still not dry in this photo, this was when I was helping him get back...

    Return!

I have no idea if anybody noticed I was gone, but I am back! I got completely overwhelmed the past couple of weeks and didn't have much time to post. I'm sorry if this is annoying. I'm just glad that I have everything under control now.

    Hope died

I'm so sorry about Hope. You did the right thing, and others can never understand the situation or the pain unless they're in the situation themselves. I'm sure she had a wonderful life with you.

    Final molt! AHH! :O

@GingerC Congratulations!! :D  always so thrilling to have the first adult molt. Any adult, for that matter. My first adult mantis was an Indian Flower mantis male. He loved to fly. No more molts to worry about!

    Kermit

Kermit is a great seller! I purchased and received three Brunner's nymphs! I also ordered some B. Mendica, but he didn't consider some of the nymphs to be strong enough, so in compensation mailed me some surprise nymphs and gave me a full refund! A+ communication, price, and mantises. Looking...

First enclosure, first mantis, any suggestions?

For feeding I would suggest either getting a small enclosure for the mantis where it can find its prey more easily or using tweezers... :P   I let my mantises out for feeding and watch them to verify they catch their prey.
