    Is she gonna molt ?

If she is eating again, that's a good sign. As long as she's eating and you're spraying her cage and making it nice and moist every 2-4 days I wouldn't worry. It's okay if they don't molt. The problem with them holding back their molt is that they don't want to eat. And if they hold back their...

    Is she gonna molt ?

No they do not eat their molts. You would see it in the cage either fallen to the bottom or hanging from the top. You also would notice your mantis is bigger or a slightly different color possibly. Like I said just keep trying to feed her every day and if she is lethargic give her some honey but...

    Pamona Supershow

Hey I was wondering if anyone else is going to the Reptile Supershow in Pamona, CA this weekend? I know this is a long shot but I'm curious lol.

    Is she gonna molt ?

Just make sure it's nice and quiet and there's not too much light. Rowena stopped her molt when because I had her in the living room. She didn't really wanna eat and was pretty inactive. So I put her in my bedroom and left her alone for about 4 days, continued to try to feed her and spray her...

    Honey for Mantis

So I knew I was supposed to be feeding my mantises honey but I kept forgetting. I fed my two girls honey on saturday and they do seem to have a bit more energy in general and they were noticeably more energetic right after. Yes, the unfiltered is good for them! You can also add Flower Power to...

    The Mantis 'Wobble'

Yeah that's what I thought it might be. Just a behavior they do based on instinct. Not that they don't do everything based on instinct though.. lol So maybe when they're on our hands or arms it feels kind of like a branch to them!

    The Mantis 'Wobble'

I also think different mantises wiggle more than others. My ghost wiggles and shimmies all the time where as my H. Venosa will do a slow rock back and forth. Especially when we hold her up nice and high on our hands.

Completely new, have a few questions.

She's very cute! As for the spasms. This happened to my ghost a few days ago. She started twitching very hard and had a hard spasm and fell off my phone into my lap. I have heard that ghosts can act funny when they are scared and drop to the ground. When she spasmed and fell off my hand I just...

And yes! You can handle them pretty much as often as you want. I like to do it almost every day. Unless they've had a big meal the day before. I try to not disturb them for a day after they've eaten or let them stay out after they eat for a few hours then let them go to sleep. They're very...

Mist the wall of the cage in case your mantis wants to drink.

Completely new, have a few questions.

Yeah they love the top of their tank, especially when they're small as they get larger they don't seem to care as much what part of the tank they're in. You can take the crickets out of the bottom of the tank. The movement stresses them out since they are such visual creatures. Feed your mantis...

Completely new, have a few questions.

I never thought about it to be honest! Probably on a branch or stick. Anything sturdy really. The process only takes 20-30 minutes so though they are very vulnerable it isn't for long.

Completely new, have a few questions.

So mesh, like from a craft store, would be best. Just hot glue it or somehow fasten it to the top of whatever container you keep your mantis in. It should give them lots of good area to cling to when they want to take a little mantis nap or molt.  Something with small holes they can cling to...

Rowena ate right up to her L8 too but she wouldn't eat before or after her L9, had to wait for the next day.

Completely new, have a few questions.

So at L3 they are very small but not too small to drink water. When you take him/her out of their enclosure they may put their little face down on your hand as if they are trying to eat, it means they are thirsty. What I do for my ghost who is also small, is drip small drops of water on my hand...

    New Mantids

So budwings live long huh? Might have to pick one up sometime. And your Giant Asian looks so goofy and cute! I want one of those too. Ugh so many cuties. I wish my gf would let me have more!

Completely new, have a few questions.

Yeah I mean, if they can't sex it I would order one and just hope for it to be a female. As for the exoterra, it looks like an L3 Sphodromantis is quite small. You might want to keep him/her in a smaller cage as they grow and transfer them to their new home once they have molted into an adult...
