    Ooths hatch HOW many times?!?!?

Oh no!!!  I bet that was interesting!!!  I had the lid of slightly when the first batch hatched. Luckily we are forever checking on the ooths and my son caught it in time.  The barks are about the size of a medium ant when they hatch. We likely would not have found any of them.  :(   I hope you...

    Ooths hatch HOW many times?!?!?

I think I will always keep them for a few weeks at this point.  LOL!  That was so odd.  48 and a few days later, 48 more.  Yet the first egg only hatched 48 total.  These barks are truly amazing!

    Wanted to buy...ooth

    Ooths hatch HOW many times?!?!?

Soooo, this will sound odd, but it truly happened and we are shocked. I purchased 2 bark ooths off of this site and one of them hatched on June 19th. Both ooths were in the same container so I left the hatched ooth in there. On July 13th, we had baby barks again. But then...........on July...

How many mantids do you have?

We have not been able to go on vacation this year because of these guys!  :)   I am taking my son on a 2 day getaway this weekend and his dad is going to watch them. He did this for us in May and all was well. I feed them very good before we go. And he is instructed on how to spray the top of...

    Releasing brings gladness and sorrow...........

We released 28 mantids into our woods today. One part of me is happy. Another is sad. I wish we could keep them all as pets. But we have over 200 Chinese nymphs alone with 3 more eggs hatching soon.  We are hoping by releasing, they will strengthen their presence in our community!  :) This...
