  1. Cloud the Dinosaur King

    My new little jumper

Female tarantulas can live for up to 30 years. Jumping spiders don't live that long however.
  2. Cloud the Dinosaur King

    My new little jumper

I think that they live for a few years and that this little guy is not fully grown. It will get a little bit bigger.
  3. Cloud the Dinosaur King

    My new little jumper

I totally agree with you about Jumping Spiders being adorable! Finally, I'm not the only one! I have quite a few Bold Jumpers and some kind of orange species free in my room. They help me take care of pesky Carpet Beetles and Scuttle Flies which bother Hookfang, my pet tarantula. I think you...
  4. Cloud the Dinosaur King

    ID please

I agree with Okoboji22. Definitely Tenodera sinensis.
  5. Cloud the Dinosaur King

Back leg fell off during molting

She should be fine. Her leg will eventually grow back in a few molts. Nice Heterochaetas though.
  6. Cloud the Dinosaur King

    New Basilisk Lizard!

FluffyMantid: I think I will name my Basilisk Slytherin. Also, if you want to go to a Repticon, on the 11th and 12th, there is a Repticon in Los Angeles. Connor: I am very excited as well. They are a medium sized species, with the largest size being about 3 feet in total length. I will...

Getting ID on a caught Mantis

She is 100% a Stagmomantis carolina. She has a black stigma, while other members of the Stagmomantis genus would have a yellow stigma.
  8. Cloud the Dinosaur King

    New Basilisk Lizard!

Hello again! On November 4th, I am going to Repticon to get some kind of cockroach, and, a Green Basilisk lizard! I am very excited they are the coolest looking lizards on Earth! They have crests on their back, head, and tail. They can even run on water! Let me know if you have any name...

My custom ghost mantis (Phyllocrania paradoxa) enclosure

I am getting some Ghosts soon and I have a ZooMed small Reptibreeze, and I am thinking about making it more of a vivarium. I am totally obsessed with naturalistic enclosures, and I can't turn up an opportunity to make one for a pair of Ghost Mantids.
  10. Cloud the Dinosaur King

    South Carolina Repticon

Hi everyone! I was just wondering if anyone else was going to the Repticon in South Carolina on November 4th. I go every time, and I am getting some new stuff. I am getting a male Green Basilisk(a lizard that runs on water), and roaches of some sort, not sure which species yet. I hope to see...
  11. Cloud the Dinosaur King

Species Identification Request, and other stuff.

To me it looks like a male Stagmomantis californica. That or a male Stagmomantis carolina. I have never seen a green adult male Carolina Mantis however. Just juveniles.
  12. Cloud the Dinosaur King

I found this in my meal worms. What is it?

It looks to be a member of the Carabidae family, the ground beetles. I have several different species where I live, and they all look pretty similar, besides size. Some are the smallest beetles I have ever seen, a quarter of the size of this guy. This looks like one of the larger species.
  13. Cloud the Dinosaur King

Good news! - Disabled mantis eating!

You are very lucky that she is doing okay(besides her looks). My Giant Rainforest female, Otulissa, had crippled wings and legs, did not eat, and then died about a week later. I wish the best to you and to Nemo :)
  14. Cloud the Dinosaur King

Green adult and subadult female Ghosts

I am getting some Ghosts soon. I am really hoping that they go green.
  15. Cloud the Dinosaur King

    Hello From South Carolina

Hello from South Carolina! My name is Cloud and I love animals, but my favorite groups are dinosaurs, lizards, and yes, mantids. My favorite mantis species in specific is Heterochaeta orientalis. As of October 16, 2017, I have 3 Carolina Mantis oothecas. I have owned Stagmomantis...
