    Kind of blurry but by your description, yes, and it does look about the size for that species. The thing is, pre subs will also display wing buds, but they do not swell up like that.

    is it okay to feed a dying male to a healthy female?

    I have had an experience with a female that died young, once she died i fed her to the other female (talking Hierodula) and this is what i believe cause the SECOND female to become sick.

    My guess would be that the mantis died, or was weak so the mealworm had no trouble eating it

    I think a lot of people don't realize that just because a species comes from a dry terrain, doesn't mean you can't mist them and keep them well hydrated.
