    No that was a bad batch of flies I got a few from the same source and I did not feed any to my mantids seeing as how the flies where dying.

    No it's not and you can't get papers people have tried. Just stop thinking about such things and live on with your mantids only way you'd get busted is if you brought them to a show or a reptile expo.

    Shouldn't even need to bother with such things unless it is a difficult species or a species where the males reach adulthood much earlier than the females (i.e. Hymenopus coronatus) just keep between 6-20 larvae and you'll get a few pairs at least.
