    Pic of European Ooth?

Thought so too but since gardeners have been using mantid oothecae as natural pest control (even though most of the nymphs would most likely move on or die) there's bound to have been a few of the so called Tenodera sinensis oothecae actually being Mantis religiosa ootheca.

    Video: Mantis Eats Sushi!

I will point out there IS a video of a Rhombodera adult female(I think!) eating a live pinky mouse on youtube the video has since been flagged due to 'animal cruelty' possibly because of the recorder saying something along the lines of 'he's eatin this ###### whole body dude'

    Need some help

Agree with Phil on this Phyllocrania is a very good beginner species, though Hymenopus would be a good one for just keeping but not for breeding as the males grow way faster than the females.

    Video: Mantis Eats Sushi!

This is one of the humane ways to kill a rat/mouse before feeding to a snake as the animal could fight back just because people do it does not mean they enjoy it.

How to provoke a threat pose?

About an hour depending on what I have at the time though I usually give them time to walk around which is why it takes so long.

    General Questions from me!

    A) How do you come up with names for your mantids? Not genus-species, like pet names. I don't name them. B ) The first time you ever held a mantis, were you squeamish? No. C) The cultures from fly cafe, does a culture actually include the buggies? Ask them for a culture that is already...

How to provoke a threat pose?

This. Gently just 'hold' the abdomen with two fingers with very little pressure.

    how communal are creobroter gemmatus?

If there's a constant supply of food you can keep them together I recommend having groups of 2-4 that way if there is a lot of cannibalism you'll still have enough left.

    Dying Chinese

I doubt it was the temperatures it's gotten down to 50s in my room before and none of my exotics have been negatively affected nor have any of the mantids wc around here. From what I can tell in the Bay Area most of mantids die from old age around now not from the cold they're usually born...
