    Attempted House Break In!

Boy am I glad that's over. As I said before, I am perfectly fine, the the would-be robbers never got inside the house. There were 4 of them. Two were lookouts, the the others were trying to break in. While on the phone with 911, I was able to give near perfect and very detailed descriptions...

    Attempted House Break In!

Wow, that must of been the scariest part of my life. I was home alone and 4 people were trying to break in my house (trying to break the doors). They were all my age or older (I'm 19). I can't talk much right now, the cops want to talk to me. But just wanted to let you all know that I'm ok...

    Empusa pennata

To some extent. I actually have a gongylus male that it ahead of all my other nymphs (considerably larger) and I'm keeping him with my sub empusa. A female sub-adult empusa is basically the same size as a male sub-adult gongylus. ;) I really should post some pics of my 2nd gen sub adult...

Cool pics. How are your E. pennata doing? My 2nd gen. are pretty much all sub adult now. :D

Note to all whom I sold Empusa pennata to

It does (one), but the empusa are no where near it. They actually can't see the window from their location.

Note to all whom I sold Empusa pennata to

Their photo period had nothing to do with this. I actually have them on a timer, which is at the same settings as it was last summer. That's what led me to conlude it was the increase of temperature (and their near immediate response to it)

Note to all whom I sold Empusa pennata to

Had a little issue with my empusa, and figured somebody else was probably experiencing the same thing. It appears that I have found the solution, so I hope I'm able to help others out. B) This time around with my empusa, they decided to stop growing for a few months. In fact, my whole stock...

Do you have any pics of them Rick? I'd love to see what the juveniles look like. :D

    Spiny flower mantid females needed

I have 4 PW spiny flower males. Would love to trade two of them for 2 females. They are about presub. PM if interested. :D

    Dermestid beetles

Those look really really good Rick! BTW, I'm almost positive that the beetles eat only dead flesh (like most fly maggots). ;)

    Hymenopus, coronatus

I got mine from Becky (Katnapper) in a trade. I'm not sure where she got them from. BTW, the other female laid an ooth while I was gone for the weekend. :D

    Rick - (US)

Got an ooth from Rick as a gift (I guess for my birthday? lol) Looks great, and can't wait until it hatches. :)

    Hymenopus, coronatus

I've mainly been feeding the pair lobster roaches. But every now and then, they get bluebottles. They only need two adult roaches to get fat vs, dozens of bluebottles.

    Hymenopus, coronatus

From tip of head to tip of wings, they are 71mm and 72mm.

    Hymenopus, coronatus

Cool, thanks. The other female should be laying soon, she was mated not long after the first female. :)

    Hymenopus, coronatus

It is tape. It is fine for bigger mantids, as long as it is applied right. I didn't want to hot glue the paper towel there because it woudl then be permanent. The paper towel helps them get a better grip in there. :)

    Hymenopus, coronatus

Here's the pics. :D Now the only thing to do is to wait. For those of you who have bred them, how apprx. long until they hatch?
