they are both great mantids. awsome really. will take anything you put in that moves (actually, sometimes moving isnt required!), are a nice big species', and will take quite nicely to humans. wide arm are by far the more aggresive of the two. by far. even as little guys, they avidly chase down fruit flies all around the cage, picking up "extras" as they go. Mine have had a fruit fly in each arm and one in its mouth before. As adults, they are bigger than budwings Budwings...not so...

Dave, Let me semi-publicly say sorry. I sent a "pair" of P. ocellats and one died and the other that was supposed to be male is a female. He would be happily breeding away right now if i was correct, but i wasnt. I am very sorry for this Dave. On a happier note, lets all keep our eyes open...

Cosmic, I have the exact same problem. My female matured, and now i need a male! Our bugs seem to look 100% the same, so if i ever find a male i'll let you know who i got it from! Hope you find a guy! Frankie

i just got some mantids (12 to be exact) from rebecca, and, unfortunently, 5 died during shipping. It wasnt that bad though since 4 OF THEM WERE FREE! Rebecca over promptly to refund or replace the non-freeby. Very nice. thanks Rebecca, Frankie

Hello! I am in even MORE desperate need of a rhombodera sp. male now then a few weeks ago! I have a lone female who is now quite ready to mate, being ~ a month old. All resulting ooths will be split 50/50, or we can arrange something else. I am just deperate for a male! Thanks so so much! Frankie

I told them explicitly (big word! :P ) to put three fly pupae in each container every day and to just dump fruit flies in the smaller mantids cage when they feel, or every three days. they still haven't told me why they put all that ###### in there...
