If you decide on having something for 1-2 years you can look into crystal red shrimp? I've been breeding and selling them for 6 years. Although the average life-span is 1-2 years if you have a good colony going you'll never see any deaths because they'll just eat the dead and continue breeding.

Yeap I've tried Hfs. She runs from those too though. The only things she'll take down right now are melangosters and hydeis

I have 3 sphodros right now. two of which are males and one is female. The males are doing great and are active hunters. The female on the other hand...I think I may have raised her wrong. When she was in her second instar, I tried putting in a housefly to see if she'd be able to catch it...

I thought mold prefers water that is higher in alkalinity?

Yeap! Not to mention RO/DI water has a lower pH so it may inhibit mold growth ever so slightly.

Does anyone know the general time period mantids will be in each instar according to my ambient parameters? (66-75 degrees and 60% humidity) Will I have to change this as grow into later instars? Sorry, I've tried searching for answers but I can't seem to find any. I have been looking for...
