    this is wierd... and it sucks :(

    seems strange, maybe the ones left together have been eating each other (leaving no evidence)? i'd expect some casualties in both lots. was the food small enough for the seperated ones to tackle? were the containers you used for both groups the same?

    Cool Mantis toy!

    if anyones got a ps2 i recommend getting 'War of the Monsters', you can play as a colossal mantis that destroys cities. it's one the best two player games on the ps2 in my opinion. i have it mint condition but no ps2 anymore :( it's quite a rare game now but usually can be found on ebay...

    food restriction = extended lifespan ?

    some studies have shown that animal lifespans can be extended through calorie restriction, if they still get the required nutrients. have you found that mantids you've fed little have lived longer than normal? and which species' this has worked best with?

    i thought there were just a few species of mantis that are known for eating themselves to death. and some females abdomens split when theyre full with an ooth and eat a lot, but without much damage

    there's something like this in my garden in the UK, although on a smaller scale. is a very strange looking spider, looks like a miniature version of the ones that are commonly sold at bug fairs. i was wondering is there an actual pattern to the webbing at the top there? spider webs by spiders...
