How does your family view your mantis keeping hobby?

My mom thinks it's creepy, but she asks how they are doing, my kids (I have 3) are jealous of time I spend "staring" at the bugs, but they named them. My 3 year old helps me catch feeder bugs outside. Thier friends think it's cool and my husband couldn't care less if they exist. They are kinda...

He mated with a female I caught outside and she laid 3 ooths. I put 2 outside and kept one. She died naturally from old age. It's been about...

    Male eating females wings???

I feed all of the mantis' ! LOL His only "food" interest is her. In his cage there are 3 large crickets, 2 large grasshoppers, and a butterfly that he actually ate yesterday. His is the one cage that I refill the least with bugs cause they aren' eaten. If the bug crosses his path, he goes...

    Hi from Mass

Hello Mantid Forum :) . I've been reading the old posts all summer while raising a 3rd generation of Chinese nymphs from a wild caught pregnant female. She died after laying her Ooth and is now a great great gramma. All of the nymphs I kept turned out to be male (5 of them) so I let 4 go...
