    She has not eaten in a week of the molt, normal for her but if it does come to it how would I nurse a nymph to eat.....she sketches out or tries to climb on me as much as I adore her climbing all over me, I really want her to eat somthing :s

    I let her harden up for 24 hours and put smaller circkets in her and moved her to a bigger tank, could that be a cause of a bad molt, she could have been stressed?..i am going to check on her when i return from uni.

    so how will that affect her feeding, will i have to take the crickets heads off and put it to her face i have dont that with millie my other mantis.... she looks like she needs a prosthetic limb ;) heeeheee i felt really bad when i first saw.....i thought i would have to put her down :(

    Petal my sheild has just molted for the 4 time and one of her catching arms is a stump the gripping part of one of her arms has not molted with her.....is that a problem or will it re appear next molt and can she feed as usual with only one arm. OLLY

    well unless she did it herself, then she is into self harming...and councelling is the answer, i thought the cricket did it cos i have heard stories of crickets eating or nibbling on mantids she is an L3 or L4

    Petal i noticed this morning had lost the tip to her front legs, the leg itself is fine but the walking part of the end has been eaten off by a dirty little cricket, will she be ok when hunting as there is no real damage just he walks with a bit of a hobble......

    Hey guys, I am glad you like the name Ian she really is a little darling, she molted about 2 weeks ago and now is twice as big and now is taking medium crickets with out even batting an eyelid, I really want to show you a picture of her....is there a way of doing that

    Just got my Malaysian shield nymph through from Ian who I have to say gives great service :) , but i am stuck with what size food i should feed her, no where seems to sell micro crickets....I do have some smaller browns I could try her with any help, could i use fruit flies??

    JUST ordered a......

    i have bought her (shield mantis) a smaller tank currently Millies tank is quite large and I want to see a mantis hunt its food, i have to hand feed Mills as she cant always find the crickets as the tank is to large.....so the shield mantis can hunt and i can film it :D
