Just thought I'd post some pictures of my chinese mantids. Look at the swimming pool colored eyes on the second one! I've never seen eyes that color in a Chinese before.
I'm happy because my H. Grandis' were introduced to one another today and have begun mating. This is my first experience breeding mantids, as I've only been keeping them since February. Enjoy the photos!

I've noticed several of you have the Nikon D70. What extra equipment to you use to get the up-close shots of mantids? Is it the macro lens or something else?

I just joined this forum in Feb when I got my first exotic mantids. All I'd kept before that was Chinese from my backyard, so I thought I'd post pictures! Hope it works!
Hi all-
Can you guys give me an idea of the life span of different mantids once they reach adulthood? What is the longest you've had them live after their final molt, what kind was it, and was it male or female?
