I need fruit flies ASAP URGENT! Chicagoland area. My mantises will die.

Hi, I wasn't prepared for this sac to hatch at all. Now, I don't have fruitflies. All of the stores are out of them. I need them for about a week untill my colony starts breeding. I'm located in the chicagoland area and I would love to buy a week worth of fruit flies from someone. No time...

Ah! My ooth hatched! What do I do????

Well,I had them in the same container for about 6-8 hours and then moved them to the cup. In the container, with the other mantises, about 22 died. Now there are a bunch hanging from the ooth still. They've been hanging there since yesterday. Should I help them down or now? Or should I have...

Ah! My ooth hatched! What do I do????

Ok. So I know I am in a little over my head here, but I felt bad for them. So far I have 40 of them in individual clear cups with netting rubberbanded on top. I misted them. And will mist them twice a day. I will change the paper towel once a week. But I still have to get some sticks to...

Thanks for the information sooooo much. I finally get how to do this. But will the mesh still hold humidity? And the moment it hatches I plan to move them to the deli cups individually. Is that allright?

Does anyone use rubbermaid containers to hatch oothes?

It's in my house so it will be dry. Do you think it might not be enough venilation? And I plan to glue the ooth to a stick? Is that ok? Also, mine is laid on the top of a critter keeper. Can I just take it off with a razor or just take it off with my fingers?

It was laid at the top of the critter keeper. I can take it off with my hands? Or with a razor? If I drill small holes on the top of the rubbermaid container will it be enough venilation? I plan on glueing the ooth to a stick and putting it in the container. Can they hatch in the rubbermaid...

Take me through the process of caring for the egg sac and the babies.

Would I just be able to cover the top with cloth or clingwrap? I'm thinking that clingwrap would be better to hold humidity so it will not dry out. Has anyone ever used a small rummermaid container with small holesdrilled into the top? I would probably put paper towels on the bottom and glue...
