What is the average period between moults for Orchid mantids please? (L1 to L2, L2 to L3 etc) I know temperature and food are a huge factor, but I would like to know the approximate time. Thanks 

I've also read that illudens is actually a subspecies of paradoxa not a different species, so it's Phyllocrania paradoxa illudens, but I'm not sure...

I know there are some experts on this forum, so I'm posting some pictures of Mantids from Malta to check or confirm what they actually are. To date Maltese naturalists state that in Malta there are 3 official mantids living in Malta - Mantis religiosa, Rivetina baetica and an Ameles species...

Is it Ok to feed exclusively wild-caught insects, like flies, moths, grasshoppers? Thanks

another small question - is it safe to handle a mantis after it has eaten?

She finally ate :) she was ignoring the aphids and the tiny moths, but then I threw her a tiny fly and she ate it, after I gave her a normal sized house-fly (about half her size) and she devoured it too :) I'm really excited now. Just one question - How much shall I give her? a normal...
