    Idolo Picks Dog's Nose

I know what you mean. Winston goes crazy trying to catch flies and he doesn't quit until he accomplishes what he set out to do. Sometimes I have to help him out because an hour later he is getting on my nerves. :) You talking about your nose or your dog's nose? :) Either way, sorry, he is...

    Idolo Picks Dog's Nose

Best for my cham too. :) He actually has a pretty strong prey drive, but he knows these are pets and he is very obedient and listens to me well.

Always great dealing with Steve. It was kind of ridiculous this time how well he treated me, but who am I to complain. :)

    Not expanding wings?

Yep. I had one the other day that molted to adult and it took at the very least a few hours. I was kind of hoping they wouldn't expand. That way it would be easier for the male to mate her later on.

    idolo help please!!!

Thanks. Me too. I had all but given up after reading this post and started emailing people looking for an adult. Glad I didn't waste my money by finding one. Not to say, mine isn't 1 out of 1000 or whatever, because I just don't know. Maybe I'll get really lucky and that one in the back...

    idolo help please!!!

Well, good news Crazy4mantis. Mine haven't molted in at least 2.5 months, but probably more like 3 and here's a pic I took this morning. He even molted from the midway branch and was probably touching the bottom towards the end and it was a perfect molt.....except one antenna is a half an inch...

    Dead Orchids

I know....right? Right after replying, I thought to myself, I should have said, "Maybe she molted from those flowers when they were alive and healthy and I waited for them to die before taking the picture."

    Dead Orchids

Thanks everyone. It didn't. I put a drop of super glue on each foot and stuck it there for the photo.

    Dead Orchids

Thanks. My plan was to take a picture of this setup, but have it set up with a healthy live orchid flower next to it with the Orchid mantis that molted sitting on it, but it didn't work out, so I just went with this.

    Feeding Tip

Here's a pic with the change I made today. I put an empty deli cup in the bucket filled with water and weighted it down when I put it in the freezer. When frozen, I poured hot water in the cup and pulled it out. Now just keep this with no cup in it in the freezer and take the deli cup full...

    Male Orchid Ready To Mate

He just molted to adult 3 days ago, but he looks ready.

    idolo help please!!!

I wonder if we have Idolos from the same hatch. I have 3 subs that haven't molted in probably at least 2 months. They are all pretty fat though, so they must be eating enough. I have a humidifier going constantly in that room. Those are all of the ones I have too, so none are making it to...

    Feeding Tip

This might be a well known way to feed your mantises, but I just discovered it about 15 minutes ago, so thought I would share just in case it's not. I keep a couple different batches of Bluebottles in 32 oz deli cups in the fridge. When getting ready to feed my mantises, I take the plug out of...

    Wahlbergii Loses To Long Tongue

That is weird. At least I've never heard of such a thing. This Wally, I had from L2 to adult and adult for many months and she was always fine with eating and would go hunting after prey on occasion.

    Wahlbergii Loses To Long Tongue

Really? You feed them bluebottles probably, right? I had a female Orchid kind of like that, but in her early stages. I couldn't ever pick up her enclosure or she would bounce of the walls faster than you could see. Once she was adult, she chilled out though.
