Hi, I bought an ootheca back in mid-march (got frustrated waiting...bought an L2 mantis online which is growing and doing fine...'xcept for a molting incident...)... the ootheca has not hatched yet....so 2 1/2 months....will the thing ever hatch or is it probably a dud? Thanks!

Just an update, I fed and fed the mantis and he molted, but unfortunately he is still missing his foot. His leg was previously bent too but that is fixed. Hopefully next molt will be better.

I got the ffs from silkwormshop. I made my own culture food from packaged oatmeal, vinegar, and canned applesauce....worked well for a bit. The mite paper seemed expensive and I thought only people who had mny cultures going needed to worry. I just dont want to get these things into the house...
