Mantis Handling Questions (second mantis, I want to do this right)

Thanks for all the help. Although it is my fault for not clarifying, but I did not mean I wanted the mantis to bond. As I said I have owned turantula's and am fully aware that the idea of love, bonding or anything other than basic instinct should not be expected out of an insect. I was talking...

Mantis Handling Questions (second mantis, I want to do this right)

I recently lost my very first mantis "Frost". Whom was a ghost mantis. Old age got him, but being a beginner I had no idea what the tell tale signs of ageing was in mantids, so with a distraught outlook and assumption I'd never again own another mantis a forum user here (Sally) gave me some hope...

My Mantis is a mess... I really need advice.

Thank you for the words. It's just something I need to get used to is all if I want to own them as "Domanating" said. I never experienced a pet ageing before so it really through me for a loop. But now that I know I'll be more prepared for the next one.

My Mantis is a mess... I really need advice.

Small update but I finally decided to put my boy in the freezer. He wasn't eating or even moving anymore. And refused to hand feed. I did not wish to see him starve to death. It's was a bitter sweet day today. I plan to frame his body though to keep him with me for years to come... RIP Frost...

My Mantis is a mess... I really need advice.

I feel alot better after hearing about this being the norm and age rather than me just being a terrible owner. ; - ; Thank you. Also yeah he's one picky, easily scared eater. It's been tough. Thank you. Yeah I make sure he gets enough now. I think I noticed how voraciously thirsty he was a...

My Mantis is a mess... I really need advice.

Thank you very much for the advice, that makes sense too as he is quite sluggish. Although I would like to clarify that I'm not unwilling to pay for food. I've spent tons on him happily and bought the appropriate food supply since I got him, however getting flies here to AZ has been heck. The...

My Mantis is a mess... I really need advice.

I have had nothing but a terrible experience with my mantis. This is my first time ever owning one, and probably my last. It's been nothing but a struggle and bad experience unfortunately. If it wasn't due to fly supply places being shady and leaving me foodless and forcing me to open up paypal...

Injured foot (not leg) what do I do?

Thank you all. HE. I guess my female is a boy according to Vlodek. OOPS! I feel silly. I'm naturally a tarantula person so my sexing is quite new/unhoned yet. Also why I panicked so hard as injuries are really terrible with T's. Anyways he did use his leg and seems alright. But I'm not going to...

Injured foot (not leg) what do I do?

Well I cried over this one because I felt so bad to have not noticed. I closed the lid of my Ghost Mantis girls lid and I guess I caught her foot. I guess she's had her foot stuck there since last night. She pulled it out instantly and brought it to her mouth. She seems to not be able to put...
