    "Drunk" Idolo

Hey i just noticed some odd behavior from one of my Idolo nymphs, i suspect it to be 2-3 molts from maturity, it acts like it is drunk, not just the normal "wobble" behavior, most of them do, but it hangs from the top and "reaches out" for the bottom, despite being 3-4 times its own lenght...

    Orchid Mantises and Food

Usually flower and orchid mantids prey exclusively on flying insects and their mouthparts are constructed as such, to prey on "soft" prey items, where the rest eats just about anything they can overpower, i rarely use anything else than flying insects (flies, moths and what i can catch in the...

Cross breeding? Reopened with new ideas?

Thats true, but my problem with it is when people start selling hybrid/crossbreeds as something they arent, maybe not the one doing the F1, but what about the possible new owners of a bunch of crossbred mantids, then they breed them and sell them as what? down the line you buy something that...

Cross breeding? Reopened with new ideas?

in my eyes crossbreeding is a big no no, sure it sux to be left with a male and no female for it, but heck its not like its an ultra rare hard to get species, besides the problem it can cause with offspring from a crossbreeding, you will also stand with a bunch of nymphs that you cant sell as S...

    Mature but is it ready?

As my topic says im curious to know how fast adult mantises are ready after they molt into adult hood, i got ghosts and violins where the females are about 1-1½ month old (as adults) and the males are closing in on a week, it doesnt seem like theres any other info than the briefly mentioned 2-3...
