the giant asian manrtis doesnt lay ready fertile eggs does it?

i've read on the net that some Mantids (females obviously) lay ready fertilized Ooths. is this true or i it just made up and if it is true which species lay ready fertile Ooths?

its cork bark, do you think i should put a small piece of sponge in for now ?....until i can get some sphagnum

this is my setup for my lil mantis, the position on the photo isnt where i keep it in my room, i had to move the tank in front of my PC so i could get a snap of it with my webcam....my digicam is a little bit buggered. opinions and feedback would be appreciated. thanks adam.

are fruit flies sold at bait shops?

is a heat mat required or is room temp ok? in some sources on the net it says i need a heat mat but in others it says room temp is fine. what do you think would be best ?
