    Advice Please

I'm looking for advice regarding my adult female Prohierodula picta. She has been with me over a year, and she matured at the end of May. She has never laid an ooth for me, so I've assumed for a while that she is obviously eggbound. Recently she has started to really decline. She can no longer...

    No ooths?

@crabbypatty, my girl matured at the end of May and is still alive right now, although she has never laid me a single ooth. She has slowed down a lot and her health is declining, but I think that has more to do with her age. I'm sorry to hear you're having the same problem! This is the first...

    Where?

I'm checking in for the first time in a month or so, it seems like things have been pretty slow!

My first tarantula a Curlyhair (Brachypelma albopilosum) HF

Your little one is looking great! Has anyone offered any suggestions on species now that it has molted again? I'd imagine it's still too early to tell what it might be, but you never know! :)

    Ashlee's Collection Thread

It has been awhile since I updated, mainly because I've been so busy with my brother's wedding and school! Sadly, Ridley passed away recently. She was with us for about 13 months, and I am so grateful for the time we got to spend with her. She was the perfect little mantis, and she was a great...

    Ashlee's Collection Thread

Thank you for the advice. I didn't mean to sound cruel when I said I hope she passes soon, the last thing I want is to lose her. She is my favorite mantis and has made an incredible little pet. I just hate to see her so inactive and having such difficulty with mobility, it's hard to see her like...

    Any other snake keepers?

    A bloodred or a coral snow? :)

Who knows what's going on with Elf, I've given up trying to explain it.   She is doing well still, eating and hanging from her lid as always. I'm thinking of maybe switching up her enclosure once more to see if she'll lay, but at this point I don't know if it would do any good. Marfa...

My first tarantula a Curlyhair (Brachypelma albopilosum) HF

Yay! I'm so glad you finally got one. :D B. albopilosum are great, they were the tarantula that started it all for me. My girl is getting huge now, and her curly hairs are looking wild and adorable. I'm sure this little one will bring you years of enjoyment, and I anticipate that if your...

    Any other snake keepers?

Yes, mantis threat poses are pretty funny to me as well.   Not as funny as they used to be since my bite from my P. picta, but still pretty funny. Apple, my two year old corn, was a bit strike happy when he first came to me, but he was so small that a bite was nothing. Apple was a moody...

    Any other snake keepers?

Haha, he still probably wouldn't be too happy!   And I guess their bites are funny to me because it just looks ridiculous. Here's this tiny hatchling corn trying to look all fierce and bite me, and you can barely feel it at all.

    Any other snake keepers?

Sounds like you have a nice collection going! I'm interested in keeping kenyan sand boas, and maybe a western hognose or two. I've honestly never been very interested in keeping ball pythons, they sound very inactive and the fact that they can fast for so long makes me nervous. My corns have...

    Any other snake keepers?

I'd love to order one, that's about the size I was looking for! I'm afraid to even bring it up to my husband though, since our new snake will be coming next week. Maybe if he still has them in a few months I can convince hubby that an OBT would be a nice Christmas gift.  :P And yes, corn...

    Any other snake keepers?

I wanted to share a picture of my newest little one, who is coming to me from VMS Professional Herpetoculture. All photo credit goes to them. She is a precious little strawberry snow corn who just turned a month old.

    Honey?

I offer it as a treat once in a while, a few of my mantids have liked it and a few have showed no interest whatsoever.

So, Ridley is still alive somehow. There have been a few points that I thought she was gone, but she still keeps hanging on. She took a cricket yesterday, I had a few extras after feeding the spiders and decided to offer her one. She drinks a lot and will occasionally eat. She no longer hangs...

    Noob Question

To give her drinking water I would buy a small spray bottle and just mist her daily or every other day. :)

    My Tarantulas

Congrats on finally getting the okay from your family! Jamie is an awesome seller, all but two of my tarantulas have come from her and they have all arrived happy and healthy. Let me know what you decide to get, I'd love to see pictures when you get your first T home! :)

Thank you for the advice! All we have right now is 2 percent, but I'll pick up some whole milk later today and see if she likes it.
