Two crickets later... and I think he got his eye on the stick I was trying to feed him honey with. I'm not freaking out just yet, but I am keeping a close eye on it (no pun intended). Update before I even hit submit: I misted and he is collecting the water mist from the leaves to clean his eye...

He was devouring a smallish cricket yesterday as I left for work, and another one this morning. I am cleaning out his enclosure tonight, so I will try to get some pictures (he's a reddish brown now). I love him, but he makes out-of-enclosure photos really hard because he likes to run up my arm...

    Sphodromantis lineola (Maude) hunting

Dig the soundtrack. What kind/size of enclosure are you using? I have a sphodromantis lineola and am trying the figure out what to use as his final living space.

I woke up to George still attached by the tip of his abdomen to his exoskeleton. L5 or L6, I think? I'll have to examine him more closely tomorrow. For now, I am letting him harden. Should I mist?

Goodness gracious. I was reading stuff that said it was 6 for females and 8 for males. Yay! I have a boy! I wanted him to be a boy! If it starts laying ooths, I'll decorate his enclosure with rainbows and let him be trans. ;)

A boy?!?! I am counting 6, but I have also never done this before!

When he was but a wee L3, yes, I used a bottle cap, but I only had it filled to the inside ring, not the top of the outside ring (does that make sense? so it had about 2mm of water, not 10mm. Now, he is a lovely L5, and I have a very shallow (maybe 1/4" dish depth) reptile dish that I fill with...

Two molts later... Do I count only 6 segments?
