Welcome, I'm from Michigan too. I'm curious about the moths, what sort to you have? I found a rosy maple moth a couple years ago and it was the most fantastic experience. I'd never seen one before! I also found a beautiful sphinx moth in California last week. Very interesting creatures!

You did the right thing. I'm sorry you had to go through this, it's not an easy thing to do. You should leave her in the freezer for another day to be safe. I've read that even when conditions are ideal, molts can go wrong or mantises can die unexpectedly.

Beautiful mantis.That has to be so satisfying! I only have one mantis, and she still has a ways to go before she's an adult. She's an L5 giant dead leaf mantis. I hope to see her mature into adulthood!
