I've had 4 mantises molt for the 3rd time (L2? I'm not sure how the system works). 3 of those have had problems with deformed back legs. One has a bad foot, one has a back leg that is completely straight out behind it and the other has it's two back legs completely messed up. The only difference is that the one that came out fine is in a smaller jar with a thicker stick. I'm thinking that the sticks I used for the others were too thin and thus they fell towards the end of their molt. Any ideas so I can prevent this with the rest before they molt? Much appreciated, thanks

Bigger sticks, rough bark/screen to hold on to, and more places with good footing to hang upside down from with a couple of inches of clearance.

BUT no matter what you give them, some will choose to shed in a bad place: I had 2 Creos shed to adulthood yesterday and they both did it hanging upside down 1" above the cage bottom. Good sheds and normal wings, so I guess they knew what they were doing...

Good luck!
