Hi All :)

So about 36 hours ago my male Chinese Mantis went though a successful molt. After My discovery, I noticed its abdomen was bent just below the thorax. The little guy is still active, still has a healthy green color, I have been misting and he is hanging up side down from his housing. After keeping a close eye on him, I fed him two large crickets, which he eat pretty quickly.

The problem is, is that he still has a bent abdomen and it will be going on its 37 hour in the same condition.

Should I panic, should I go to church this Sunday morning and pray....?

Help me....

If it acts okay, it's probably okay! Some variety of mismolt probably caused it. If it can still eat and poo, it should make it just fine. What molt was it? Still a nymph? I'm just curious

This is pretty common with chinese mantids. There is nothing you can do about it.

I have a chinese mantis like that too, looks very painfull but it doesnt seem to mind it at all.
