A measly mealie meal

Sometimes I get concerned for Phantom's eating habits. Or lack thereof. She doesn't eat much unless she's starving, no matter how many hydei, crickets, beetles, worms I put in her cup. So today I cut the tip off a mealworm and shoved it in her face (Thanks for the cutting idea SilentDevILL). She started eating much like a mantis eats honey off a stick. Then she grabbed it gently, and as she ate more she got a firmer grip. Then, finally contentedly full, she went for a stroll.

I always get nervous when anything in their behavior changes significantly. Not eating scares me the most. But I just like the idea that they know what's best for them. Glad to hear she did end up eating and walkin

I dont think not eating until her abdomen is thin as paper is whats best for her. I just think she doesn't like the food I have available.

She definitely is a little spoiled. I'm going to let her run around the play area today since the marbleds are done with it for now.

The only flies I have and can get right now are hydei. there aren't any house flies or blue bottle suppliers in Canada, and no one in the states will ship them here because they probably wouldnt survive the shipment. My friend's and I are looking into fishing supply places for maggots, but even then it would be a while.
