Not really. Some species just mate longer than others. My mantids only mate for about 30 minutes to 1 hour and the ~3 oothecaes produced are still fertile from the one mating.

 
I'm not familiar with that species and so someone who has experience with them should have a better solution. But, if it were me, 24+ hours would be long enough and I would separate them (don't do it unless you're certain you know what your doing - i.e. probability the female might turn and grab the male when you're attempting to separate them thus damaging the male).

 
Are you sure they have connected? if so, get the male of if he only sits there(if you want him in one piece ofcourse).

Give that female another cricket and get the male off GENTLY.

Or hope that he flies of in time.

Up to you.

 
If they are still connected then leave them be. If he is done but just sitting there then just pull him off. The male being eaten is the exception, not the rule.

 
Hierodula is the genus, not the species name. Keep the female fed and the male should keep his head. Im a poet and i.... :rolleyes: :)

okay. well anyway Metal was stuck in her but eventually they seperated and Metal gave me that look and they are both safe and sound, things went very smoothly.
