a very lucky mantis😭

i didn't go to school yesterday, the whole time i have owned walnut (deroplatys desiccata) she has never had any problems moulting. she started to moult at around 12:40pm but she had picked the lowest branch in her enclosure to hang from and there wasn't enough room for her to wriggle out of her old skin and she ended up getting stuck. i had to use a ruler and self closing tweezers to pinch the fake ivy she had clung to and lift it up so she had enough room to wiggle out. she ended up hanging upside down for too long while unfolding her wings so now they look a bit funky but she survived. shes lucky i wasnt feeling well because if i had gone to school she wouldn't have survived.

Very lucky you were there to help her. Sometimes mantises aren't the brightest and don't choose a spot high enough.
