Temps hit the 40's today so I went out looking for some Chinese ooths to put in my yard. Came across a good spot in a town park and in less than an hour I found 12.

Wow, sweet! I had 7 between my two females. Three have hatched and I'm hoping the other four will give me many babies to turn loose. I have several farms and gardeners waiting :)

My yard should be crawling with mantids this year.
You may see a few adults after all that. haha. I went out to a spot here last year and found 75 Chinese, Narrow wing, and Carolina ooths. But they have since mowed that place down.

I have looked for ooths on several occasions, but I have never found any. Can you give me any suggestions on spots to look?
For Chinese ooths in my area I got to weedy fields and lots. Usually where the weeds are 2 to 5 feet tall. European ooths I find on rocks and boulders very close to the ground in more open grassy areas, but I always find these by chance and have never hunted for them. So far these are the only types of ooths I've found. Happy hunting!
