enjoy :)

I get a feeling albert is keeping apicalis They r very similar but the thorax and wing colors vary slightly
Thanks to your comment I spent the afternoon tracing my mantids ancestry. Albert got them from Shieldmantis1997 who got them from Sporeworld who was sure they were pictipennis. Maybe yours is the one misidentified.

Ok so this is driving me crazy... I have 2 creos. Both came at the same time from mantidmike. One has elongated wings, and one has teeny tiny wings like a mini version of the other one when they became adult. At first I though oh, a male and a female but now Idk. I have been looking at all the pics trying to see if they are gemmatus or apicalis or pictipennis... But they came from the same batch. Uggghhh , anyway I will post pics when I get home from new jersey for much needed help. Nice pics ... :)

If they're from the same batch they should be the same species. In the picture Alex posted looks like the male Creo I had before. With the long wings. I can tell its female though from the third pic, and her wings are much longer than my females.

If this keeps going it could literally be the most nerdy fight ever had on the Internet.

the creo is a female! ;)

i guess it's normal variation

maybe they get so fat the abdomen reaches beyond the wings

I am almost home so when I get there I will post the " mini" wings. Yes the length is small... But it is the size of the markings and width also .truly mini.

okay here are the creobroter pics of small mini wings andnormal size wings. sorry no macro lens....so what do you think?

maybe if you breed these smalle wing creos, youll bet a budwing flower mantis??!?!?!? Strange anyway.

they both look like gemmatus

look at the perfect circle spots on the bottom one's wings, this is characteristic of gemmatus

apicalis have the inward curving markings like the top one, and pictipennis have the indents at the top of the spots like my female

my creos r from mike and trans-am, though mike got his creos from trans-am so they r the same
