I've had female's crowns fold when they molt too close to the floor and the crown gets bent while its still soft.

This guy molted from my hand cause on his way out he was slowing too much so i grabbed the skin and kinda squeegied him out and he was fine

No he started in the net cage but was having trouble so i grabbed the skin by the legs and helped him finish

Wow beautiful mantids, the photos are incredibly clear and detailed. Haha I like how the adult male Phyllocrania paradoxa's crown is bent backwards, I figure it was a mismolt, but obviously not a big deal, actually adds character.
