Hi all,
We just tried to mate our Ameles decolor adults and found out that the male is doing a funny dance right before hopping on the female. Each claw goes horizontally towards the outside and sometimes he opens his wings half and shakes his butt. We're quite certain this was not a defense pose!
Has anyone else seen this before? It's our first mating so we were pretty surprised.
We have no photo's of the dance, but we like to share some of the mating! We sure will record the next dance on video though
ps: she ate a moth, that explains the dirty claws
