Hello, I live in Cyprus and a few weeks ago a mantid flew in off the balcony, collided with the light and was spinning about on the floor. I put him in a crab net and named him Adonis. When he seemed ok I put him in a fig tree but 18 hours later he hadn't moved so I put him back in the net. Then I found a female, named Aphrodite, and put her in aother crab net. He has now mated with her twice and kept his head. I feed them crickets mainly because that's what I can catch. If she produces eggs I will try to hatch them and let the babies go in the spring. I have no idea what I am doing, that's why I am here.
