Are idolos really communal?

I had 3 idolos in the same container and yesterday one molted to L4, but was half eaten by one of the other idolos. So now i'm left w/ 2. Should I separate them? I threw plenty of hydei in there the day before the cannibalistic act, so i'm not sure what happened.

No mantids are reeeeaaaally communal. Ants are, mantids just tolerate each other

I think that you should be feeding L3 much bigger food. Mine like medium sized moths at this point. They were probably still hungry.

i've been feeding them dubia roaches and house flies. i ran short of the big food, so while i waited for the big flies, i gave them hydei. Guess i screwed up lol.

I got four today and 2 molted one on the floor of the container he came in.

I am keeping them separate until they eat.

So far they are not interested in the flies.
