I have a Dead Leaf mantis female,(Deroplatys Lobata) and I was wondering if there was anyway to artificially fertilize her eggs when she is an adult. I have no male Dead Leaf mantis, so I was just wondering.

IF this was possible, what would you use since you don't have a male?

Well, I looked it up and found this article of it being done with ants http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs00040-012-0273-3

I could never do this without the male mantise's fluid so I guess I will have to buy a Dead Leaf male later.
In a laboratory setting with people that have the tools and expertise to do such a thing. My "if" was in regards to doing it at home. And in that study they mentioned that those ants don't mate in captivity, that isn't an issue with the mantids we generally keep.

An untrained hand can easily cause irreparable damage to all the delicate parts of an insect's reproductive system or introduce an pathogen directly into the insect. I suggest getting a male and letting them do what they can do normally.
