Hi all. As my chinese nymphs enter there final couple of molts, and I keep finding adult female ground mantids, my favorite Iris oratorias have all but died off for the season. Luckily, with all the females I had this year I was able to get a lot of oothecae. And yesterday, they finally started hatching. Well, three hatched. But those of you familiar with this species know that they hatch in waves, so I'm not very concerned. I always forget how small the nymphs are, especially compared to the chinese L1s which were the last nymphs I've dealt with in a while. Anyway, just sharing the good news. They were incubated by placing them behind my PS3 in a glass jar. Hope to see more hatch out over the course of the day/week. Pictures coming soon!
P.S hopefully I can mate my Tenodera sinensis, I have two males and one female.
