I just got home an hour ago from my appendectomy, a surgery to remove my appendix. I developed appendicitis very quickly and was brought to the hospital on Monday night. I had my operation yesterday morning and all my friends visited me. It was crazy dealing with this coming out of nowhere. I'm home now and continuing to practice walking.

Been there done that. I had a rare form called reoccurring appendicitis. In my case I kept getting these bad stomach pains during the night but they went away. That went on for months until one day at work I got it really bad which was odd. I went home and was dry heaving and feeling really bad. Finally I told my wife something was wrong. She took me to the ER and next day after all the tests they took it out. Never had any pain and felt fine. That pain has never come back. That was my third or so surgery and I have yet to have any need for pain meds afterwards. Not sure why.

Been there but didn't get it removed, it was about to rupture and they didn't have the right doctor there and they didn't want to get the one on call so they were gonna trauma hawk me to another hospital but they ended up not moving me incase it did rupture. So they put me on a morphine drip and told me to wait it out and after a night in the hospital they cleared me to go home...glad you're ok and have a speedy recovery so your mantises don't miss their owner :p

I am sure it was done laparoscopic. You shouldn't need much time at all to recover. I think I was feeling fine a day later.
