Bad molt.

I checked on my orchids a bit ago and to my dismay I see that one has died in the middle of a molt and another one was stuck at the bottom of the cage (cause he decieded to be non-conforming and molt on the moss and hit the bottom while he was molting). I picked him out and saw that his legs (both on the right side) where floating up in the air, like he couldn't put them down. Then I noticed that his foreleg(right side yet again) was pulled out and back and kinda just stayed there, so when he tries to walk he trips over his foreleg.

I wanted to know would that fix it's self out in his next molt? (by the way he is now a L3)

I hate when this happens with orchids as I really like em. If the leg is really in his way it will probably make molting harder next time. You can wait a few days to observe and then amputate that leg. He should do fine as long as the other front leg is good. If you can get us a pic to help see what is going on.

Yeah, I'm pretty angry it happened.

It's genrally only in his way when he's walking so hopefully he'll be able to molt. I think he can eat but I'll have to see.

I checked on him a while ago, apparently something happened to him cause his back left leg was hanging uselessly and when I touched it and it fell off. Now he only has five legs.

He died a bit ago. I have no idea why. He was eating and doing pretty good, but I found him dead on the bottom of his cage. I wasn't happy about that. <_<
