Bait for Catching Flies

Does anyone know what would be good to use as bait to catch flies? I work full time so I don't really have time to make a complicated mixture so I am looking for something simple yet effective. I would also prefer it not to be meat or dairy because I don't want to introduce salmonella from raw meat or attract raccoons and other scavengers that would raid the fly traps.

I use really ripe bananas for fruit flies and dog food for flies
