would it be safe to keep a male with a female in the same enclosure as long as there is enough feeder insects in the enclosure to keep them fed or would it be a problem and he would be the main course on the female mantids menu?I got a creobroter male and female adult and i wish to place them in the same enclosure but the female is little older then the male but wonder if its safe or not?

No it won't be. I don't care if you put 1000 crickets in there with them. If she gets the chance (which she will) she will eat him. Yes, some species seem to do ok living together but there is always the risk. If you only have one male why even risk it?

Did you miss my point on that one, Rick? LOL! :D

why i am saying this i have not put them together but lack of containers for me right now but have to resort to make shift cages out of mouthwash bottles and such as enclosures since i got 3 critter keepers and one has gemmatus 4 sub adults and now 2 of them made it to adults and in the other one i got 6 female gambians living together and they tolerate one another and one last critter keeper i have a single creobroter female in it and got a mouthwash bottle with the top cut off which has my creobreter male by himself .I should of just stuck with one male and one female but this is what i have to work with atm! I guess i was lucky that my 4 sub adults did not eat one another so far and now they are becoming adults one at a time!Since I think it would be just crazy to get another critter keeper I will resort to make shift cages which is cheaper and easier to maintain!I am not worried on the size of the bottles used for cages as long as I can make good use of them is all I need!

Yes, make some make-shift homemade cages. Look in the Enclosures/Housing section for some great ideas!

Otherwise, be prepared... ;)
