Hey guys! So I caught one of my chinese molting to L5 today, which is odd for me as I don't usually have the time to watch them. I watched him cone out and he seemed to do it just fine. However, when I took a closer look, he appears to be bleeding from an eye! Is this blood, or just part of molting? Do I wipe it off? He seems to be airing out his legs now, which i think is normal, but his raptorals are sort of twitching every now and again. Do you think he'll be alright?

My phone won't let me attach pictures, but as soon as I'm done with feeding, I'll add some via the computer.

As always, thank you for your advice!

I've seen mantids bleed from mis-molts, but only around the legs and joints. I've never seen bleeding from an eye. Blood is transparent and greenish. A picture would definitely help!

this happened yo a couple of mine before too, its fixed with the next molt, he will just have a little spot on his eye til then. no harm done though he will be just fine. :)

My phone won't even let me send pictures now, and it's my only camera.

Yeah, he seems fine now. He ate a cricket, and is just hanging out on the lid as per usual. I'll keep watching him, but I don't think I'll see anything weird. I wonder why it happens.
