Just wanted to share...

This is Bones, my last Idolomantis. She ate her companion and an ant invasion ate my other big guy.

Bones is pretty cool and not too skittish for her species. She comes out of her cage and takes food from me but this morning when I said good morning, she flashed me so Ieft her alone. I suppose she had a scare of sorts.

She is one molt away from adulthood. I have my fingers crossed.

Im currently keeping both G. gongylodes and B. mendica. Is keeping idolomantis much different than these?
A little different. They are generally pretty skittish and don't like to be handled but I also depends on the interactions you have. My Idolos were all really receptive to me. I always left them alone when they needed it. They require slightly higher temps but if you have G. gongylodes and B. Mendica, the temps should be suitable for Idolos. They require humidity as they get older but from my experience not necessary too much before hand. I keep them as I would my violins and thistles until L5, then I slowly increase humidity. By the time they get to the last molt, it should be pretty humid, around 70-75%.
