hey all

so before I post pictures, TW images of decomposing deer and geese

there's a wildlife management area right where I live called Great Swamp

well, we were there doing field work last week and came across a shed with dead animals in it

so today I got a net and a cage

and went out to the shed

opened it up

and with several sweeps of my net

i got quite the haul!

it helps that I don't have a sense of smell, but thanks to the labmate who told me of the source of the smell, and my apologies if our find traumatized him

i usually breed bottleflies in summer anyway, but my last attempt was unsuccessful

Gotcha.  Maybe that's when you were seeing if they would take your housefly medium.  Not stinky enough?

yes. they barely grew

i use rotting dog food instead
