This is my first time raising these fantastic mantids. I now have an adult female and as of last night an adult male.

My question is how long after the final shed until the male can mate with the female. I know the males sometimes only live a month after final shed, but when can they be used to mate?

Thank you for any help and of coarse I will keep you all updated on any mating's😎😍

My female is also looking for a mate. In normal mantis the female takes around a month and the male takes about 2-3 weeks. I have never mated Idolos but my Violins are good to mate later for the females.

The male should be ready after two weeks but the Idolo males will live longer than more than a month but I don't know for how long.

Let me know how it goes. I would like to try to mate them too. Only takes one successful mating so if your male is still alive, I would love to have him after you are done. We can see if we can both produce successful ooths. And if not, maybe we can share if one of us is successful. They are my second favorite species.
