Breeding Deroplatys truncata

Hello everyone,

this is the first time for me trying to breed mantis. I have read some topics and watch some videos from the forum before attempting it. would like to verify, if it is normal for a male to mount on the female and did not start to try to attempt to breed? He has mount on her since 3 hours ago without any action ongoing. From what I read and watch from video that does not seem to be the case. Would like to seek opinions here. Thanks! Attached is the photo of them.

Yeah, that's normal. Hopefully he tries to connect soon! I've had males mount, stay mounted for days, then dismount without ever connecting.

Sorry, was busy with work and forgotten to check the forum. Sadly,he didnt connect. Worst part. The female suddenly turn to eye him 6hr after he was on her back i have to seperate them to prevent him becoming supper will try again in the next few days.

Sorry for the blur picture. After stalking the female for 24hrs, the male decided to mount her  The male however tried to mate twice today with both attempt looking like a failure. Do i have to do something about this? or the only thing I can do is pray for the male to know how to correct his posture and mate successfully? =(

3 days, all his attempt to mate fail. decide to remove him and try again another day.
