Budwing mating

I'm about to try to mate my budwing pair! But how long will they mate for? All the mantids (chinese) that i have mated took 12-15 hours!!! I don't want the budwings to mate that long! If anyone can help let me know!!!

I don't remember them taking that long, but why don't you just let them do what God made them to do? If it takes that long, then it is best not to interfere, they really don't need our help, the problem is us, in the wild, no one is looking to see wheather she is saying " off with his head" or not, that's our worry, not theirs

Me also yesturday it happened i fed her 7 adult crickets!!!!!

in 1.5 days and put another 3 in with the male because i did not know how old she was Thingkin was ready t do the boogiewoogie becuse she ate allot turned my back 2 minutes and it was allready to late verry agressive lady's

With me the same because i have put the male about 30cm from the female in the enclosure female after i looked the male was being eten and the female was at the same place maybe she had allready mated before because they were bought as wildcatched in the reptile store

Its ok at least i tried. You got your mantids from a reptile store? I have seen them sold as reptile food on ebay and stuff but no in stores. If you are in the UK i can believe it.

From Belgium sometimes they have em but verry rare. And mostly wildcought in Tanzania.

Robomantis, budwing mantis can mate for a long time, usually last for about 12-24 hours. A very aggressive mantis so i always keep extra male of this species. If you need a male let me know. Best of luck!
