Budwing (Parasphendale agrionina) Mantis attempted mating

So I decided to try to mate my budwings today, but it didn't happen . But here's the story!

Male budwing: "Hey there young lady, How you doing? *Cleans himself* *I gotta look good*

Female budwing: *This guy is definately not my type! Why does he even bother....*

Male budwing: "Sooooo...I know we just met..., but ummm do you want to be my girlfriend?"

Female budwing: "Are you kidding me?"

Male budwing: "So is that a yes?"

Female budwing: "GET OUT OF MY NET CAGE NOW!"

Male budwing: "Come on.. give me a chance.."

Female budwing: "Did I just stutter...GET OUT!!!!" *GIVES HIM THE EVIL STARE*

Male budwing: *outside of the net cage* "So I guess I will call you later.."

Female budwing: "DONT BOTHER!"

THE END

PS: Never was able to mount or mate at all. <_< Female budwing was unreceptive and she definately was not interested.

Just a thought, did you try giving him the rear approach? From out of her line of sight?

That was the first thing I did and then she saw him in the corner of her sight, and she quickly turned her head at him. I was scared from there on She kept throwing her threat pose. And those forelimbs are really strong....It can draw blood for sure :angry:

females tend to just walk around and maybe jump here and there, but their forelimbs are extremely strong. It can pinch and draw blood, me talking from experience. the males are able to fly and jump around for sure, they are smaller.
