Hi everyone,

I'm incubating some C. pictipennis ooths. This is my first time incubating, so any tips and suggestions/corrections would be appreciated! Here are the pictures of the two ooths I received. I will be trying to incubate them around 80F. I have small feeders ready already (mel. fruit flies).

80F will do but a few degrees warmer might speed them up. Its best to have the ooths at the top of the cup horizontally facing down though this species may be fine hatching like that. Be careful about letting large water droplets form or nymphs may get stuck in them and die. I might suggest hot gluing some paper towel on the insides of the cup, it'll help you maintain humidity. Nymphs will take mels happily for the first few molts but you should try and get some hydei going, they're more preferable as nymphs turn L2/3/4.
