Got em' a few weeks ago as a tiny nymph! Since then it has gone thru two sheds, growing and eating like a champ haha...

Can anyone tell if it's a he or she?

Sorry for the bad pics <_<

It looks like a Stagmomantis limbata. Did you catch it in L.A.?. As for male or female, count the number of abdominal segments when it gets bigger: 6 = female and 7 = male if I remember correctly.

I just had a similar nymph identified up here and it was limbata. I see you use critter totes too (in the last pic your mantid is on the lid of one.) :)

Yea used it up until the other day. I made a enclosure out of a ice cream container :p

Looks like a stagmomantis limbata. I think it's a female. I have the same species.

Also, something really strange keeps happening to me with this species. The wings are transparent green and have no color. I'll get a pic on here

That's fairly common in a recently molted mantis, but I don't know about a mantis that's been an adult for a over a week. I thought their wings were lime green?
